What attracted you to Business Sweden?

– It’s truly a unique organization where you get to work across markets with large companies, startups and government organizations. This mix of insights into various organizational types provides an exciting perspective on Swedish industry. It is not often you find such a global and diverse workspace! Working with the smallest companies, with innovative solutions making a positive impact on healthcare, is highly motivating. Assisting them in accessing tools and capital, and bringing their solutions to market makes this job truly meaningful! I am motivated by the fact that we contribute to promoting Sweden, supporting companies and fostering an ecosystem for research and innovation. This higher purpose combined with a global team was what attracted me to Business Sweden.

Tell us about the international aspect of your work.

– I interact daily with colleagues from all corners of the world, giving me the opportunity to travel and experience different cultures. If I ever wanted to work abroad in the future, there are plenty of possibilities to join one of our other offices worldwide. There is high mobility between our offices, allowing for exposure to various markets.

Can you share a project you have worked on?

– A recent project involved a major pharmaceutical company expanding manufacturing operations in Sweden. We made the case for Sweden as an ideal location, identified grants and incentives, and engaged local stakeholders. Sweden’s strong sustainability profile was crucial in meeting the company’s renewable energy targets. We even encouraged them to aim higher by applying to become a World Economic Forum “Sustainable Lighthouse” project.

What development opportunities are available at Business Sweden?

– There are numerous development opportunities within the organization. Many employees have stayed with the company for a long time, while others have tried new paths and come back, which speaks to the positive experience. Business Sweden have a structured career path from associate to consultant to project manager, allowing for upward progression. There is also the option to seek a new position in a different market and focus on specific industries through industry networks.
